Readathon Fundraiser +

Lights Off, Torches On Celebration Event

Every year the CSPS P&C hosts a Readathon. This is a great way to encourage reading and is also a big fundraiser for our school. Each child receives a logbook where they record what they have read each day during the Readathon dates. Children are invited to ask friends and family to sponsor them by either per page or a one-off amount. Logbooks will be handed out via classroom teachers at the beginning of Term 2.

The donations will go towards improvements and resources for the school. You can also raise funds online. You can visit the Readathon website, create a sign-up page for your child/ren, and then send it to friends and family: https://www.mycause.com.au/events/crownstreetpublicschoolpcreadathon2025

The Readathon team will add your cash contributions from your logbook and the funds you raise online to work out your total donations. The Readathon kicks off on Monday May 6th and ends Friday May 30th. All donations (via card or cash payment) must be handed into the Readathon Collection Desk in the school playground. The desk will be available each morning from Monday, June 2nd to Friday, June 6th.

There will be small prizes of special erasers for students who raise over $20 and special pens for those who raise over $50. The 2 classes who read the most pages will be given a mufti day! Plus, a free book goes to the child who has read the most pages in each class. A big thank you is owed to Ariel Bookstore who are generously donating the prize books.

Lights Off, Torches On - Tuesday - May 13th 5pm - 8pm

To celebrate the Readathon month we also host an author evening where children can hear and meet some great authors. Children are invited to wear their pyjamas or cosiest clothing and bring a book and a torch.

Gates open at 5pm and we will have a sausage sizzle for dinner. You will be able to purchase food from 5pm and throughout the evening. Gates close by 8pm. It’s fine to bring your own food but no nuts and no alcohol.
