A letter from the P&C Executive to the CSPS Community

As we wrap up P&C meetings and work for 2024 we wanted to take a moment to stop and reflect on the year. We wholeheartedly appreciate every member who takes the time to pay a $1 each year and attend meetings when they can. Thank you to every volunteer who signed up, picked up the tongs, served and cut pizzas all night, sat on door entrances, helped pack up and hustle for CSPS! To the families who donate + attend events and show up to participate thank you! Without all of you none of what we achieve is possible. We couldn’t have done it without you!

We’d also like to thank Principal Craig Nielsen, the school Executive Kat Etchells, Jo Boufous, Katherine Sherring and their teams for consistently supporting and being available for P&C initiatives. Your experience and support is incredibly valuable. In addition we are so appreciative of Danielle Bingham, Kass Diffin, Noelle Parry + Winnie in the office. Huge thanks to Ms Jennings for another year of Crazy Camel. It’s a joy to see this work. Adam Hunt, Mia Swadling + Patty Dai for helping us get to grips with our IT needs.

Here are just some of the things we achieved this year, together:

  • Raised $22K through Readathon - thank you CSPS Community!

It’s been a huge and successful year for our P&C. All of this is only possible because of volunteers at our school and the generosity of our community. Thank you to everyone who has stepped forward in either running events, or showing up at events. It all makes a difference.

Special thanks to Hank Kaleta for being our never fail can do AV guy handy with all the posters and QR codes! Fiona Richardson for beautiful acknowledgments of country at our meetings. Suzanne Weston for bathroom block support. Shiegeko + Andy for always being there.

Class Patrons you might feel like copy paste queens but you play an important and valuable roles in being community hubs. Thank you for doing this role it’s important!

What can we expect in 2025 from the P&C?

  • Wishing Trees will launch end of Term 1 and beginning of Term 3 in 2025 (we won’t run raffles and trees and our Readathon will be our big funding drives for the year, other events are primarily community builders)

  • Events: Welcome Back BBQ breakfast Wednesday Week 5, 2 discos - Term 1 + Term 4, Readathon + LOTO, Movie Night + Trivia Night and one election BBQ!

  • Band will perform in Week 5 assemblies each term.

  • 2025 Meetings as per 2024 - first meeting AGM @ The Dolphin March 11th with an invite for new parents to stay for a drink after 6pm - 7pm for meeting, 7pm - 8pm social hour.

  • Lunch on us for our teachers once per term.

  • $200 per classroom teacher to personalise their rooms.

Thank you CSPS Community for your time and involvement. Together we’ve made a significant difference to our school. We will be watching closely for the Assets + Heritage feedback on our requests for resurfacing, safety upgrades and new softfall. It’s still our dream to revitalise many corners of the playground and we will continue to work on this with school.
